imageThis article provides the reader with an understanding of sexual addiction as it gains more common acceptance in the mental health field. We will address current assessment and treatment regimens that are available to the client and that may prove useful at the time of sentencing, and we will provide with examples of cases in which sexual addiction was contemplated. It is routine and expected that defense counsel will present all pertinent character and situational information to the trial court for purposes of mitigation. It is based upon this presentation that the sentence is rendered upon the client. Consider the following three examples of common in-court presentations:
