Eric Long and Tyler Walchanowicz of Friedman Nemecek Long & Grant, L.L.C., obtain a record $2.375 Million Dollar dental malpractice settlement in Cook County, Illinois.
Plaintiff, a 30-year-old female, visited her general dentist complaining of upper left tooth pain. While performing a root canal on Tooth #15, the dentist punctured the plaintiff’s sinus membrane and injected Sodium Hypochlorite (bleach) into her sinus. As a result, Plaintiff suffered permanent damage to her trigeminal nerve which caused consistent facial pain and negatively impacted her ability to enjoy many of her daily activities. Plaintiff’s lawsuit was filed against the dentist that performed the procedure and the dental practice that employed him.
Eric Long and Tyler Walchanowicz of Friedman Nemecek Long & Grant, L.L.C. were sought out by fellow attorneys to serve as lead trial counsel based on their successful courtroom experience and the complexities of the case. On the morning of trial, Eric and Tyler secured a $2.375 Million Dollar settlement with defendants’ insurance company, which was more than double the highest reported award for a trigeminal neuralgia lawsuit in the State of Illinois. We are honored that our colleagues placed such trust in us to represent the interests of the Plaintiff. Most of all, we are thrilled that our client has obtained a degree of accountability and can now move ahead with her life.
