A client approached the firm after discovering that a warrant for his arrest had been issued from Lucas County, Ohio, over twenty years ago. The warrant claimed that the client failed to appear for a jail sentence stemming from an Aggravated Possession of Drugs charge to which he pleaded guilty. The only problem: the client had never even been arrested in Lucas County, Ohio. Lucas Trott investigated this matter and discovered that another individual had stolen the client’s identity, used it when he was arrested and throughout his criminal case, and fled the jurisdiction before he had to serve jail time. Attorney Trott got the warrant lifted, the guilty plea vacated, the case dismissed, and the client’s record sealed. Now, the client can continue his law-abiding lifestyle without being followed by a false criminal record earned by someone else.
