Forty-year-old mother of four was indicted on seven counts, including Aggravated Murder, Murder, Felonious Assault, Endangering Children, and Domestic Violence for the drowning death of her four-year-old son. Attorneys Ian Friedman, Madelyn Grant, and Lucas Trott filed their appearances and entered pleas of Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity on behalf of the mother. Very detailed testimony was elicited from first-responders at an initial bond hearing which corroborated the NGRI contention. Legal counsel engaged and utilized world-renowned experts in the areas of Filicide and Forensic Pharmacology that opined that the client was unable to appreciate the wrongfulness of her conduct at the time of the drowning. After a trial to the court, a verdict of NGRI was rendered. The client was committed to a treatment facility so that she could receive needed care.
