Since January 1, 2016, the seven-attorney firm has offered the same hard-hitting criminal defense counsel Ian Friedman has become known for, while also branching out into new legal territory, as well.
As profiled in a recent issue of Ohio Jewish News, the new firm was formed as both Friedman and Nemecek exited McCarthy, Lebit, Crystal and Liffman Co., LPA. Attorney Friedman had originally merged his firm, Ian Friedman and Associates (which included Attorney Nemecek) with McCarthy, Lebit, Crystal and Liffman Co., LPA in order to create a "one-stop shop" for any client's legal needs. However, Friedman and Nemecek have come to feel a more personal and criminal law-focused approach will benefit those they feel they can best serve. "Our clients are looking forward to getting back to the smaller, more comfortable environment," Nemecek said.
Branching Out to Digital Security
Along with the primary focus on criminal defense, Friedman Nemecek Long & Grant, L.L.C. L.L.C. will also offer services to companies looking to improve their digital security. Specifically, the firm will help determine any susceptibility to computer hacking that threatens consumers' personal information.
There has been a growing need for this type of service among countless companies who store their customers' personal and financial information to make transactions. As Attorney Friedman explained to the magazine, when consumer information is illegally mined from a private company's digital storage, that company can then be exposed to claims against them from the customers who trusted them with their information.
